Oh man, really, you can't be serious! While I dont know if you might get banned or not for liking the cockmongler I can tell you one thing for sure: You cant compare a drummer as if he were a singer, really! Does the drummer need to know about vocal techinques? No, unless he is going to sing and play drums at the same time (something "Yo" doesnt make... In fact he can't focus on playing drums, not even with the score in front of him... NOT EVEN WHEN HE PLAYS THE SAME FUCKING DRUM PATTERNS OVER AND OVER AGAIN!!! So, as you can see, mr Miscastdice, you are wrong again) You may feel that this is a "x boards vs miscatdice" drama, but really, you seem to try to talk about Yoshiki in every single thread. And even try to "protect him" from known (the big bad guys at every x japan board, blog etc) and unknown evils in the "evil satanic internet world" Now, talking about musicianship, you know Louie Bellson? Of course not, as it is clear that you dont know a damn about musicianship, so let me tell you a little bit about him: He died recently, he was a jazz drummer from the 50s, he died really old and still could do everything as fucking cool as ever, what a shame that an old man from 70+ years could do everything just as if he were in his 20s while poor little Yo cant play a single drum pattern properly (not to mention that he is not a very technical drummer!) If you want to know the way the REAL DRUMMERS PLAY take a look at this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeihZtAyoEE...re=channel_page and this one os 30+ years later: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfNeTdETW5U you may find revent videos... And no, there's no Louie Bellson collapse. ENJOY (?)

I agree on the observation that this band doesn't seem made with the purpose to do something really freaking impressive, but to have some musicians who wanted to play together, play together. Actually doing it for musicianship, kinda opposite to what SKIN was. Parting from that, TKRA configuration was a great decision, since they focused on what's important for music, not just in making a pretty product. I haven't heard how Tommy sings now, but I don't know how much I should trust miscastdices's ear, when it doesn't recognize Sex Pistols songs. Or when it thinks that Yoshiki can "keep up with pretty much everyone on drums". Anyway, keep it soft, burn is nice, but avoid the flames.

QUOTE (winterspelt @ Jul 5 2009, 05:48 AM) So, as you can see, mr Miscastdice Miscastdice is a guy? WTF? XD''' and for the whole Tommy thing, yeah sure Tommy isn't really a good singer but he is good at what hes doing, as long as he remembers the lyrics i'm happy with it, not like Ryuichi when he sang Anarchy at the Extasy Summit hahahaha

*shakes head*
You'd think I hated TKRA or something from all the fucking flames here. . . I actually LOVE TKRA. Seriously, just because I think that Freewill/PSC has better vocalists than Dynamite Tommy is NOT disrespect for the band, I happen to be very much of a punk fan, and I simply didn't like DT (were his songs recognizable, I would have recognized them for what they were......but I *did* recognize the bass line and drums, but I thought he was combining some different lyrics. . .)
I actually loved the live, and I look forward to their future activities. I think Taiji and Kenzi are really fucking awesome.......

QUOTE (broken tavern @ Jul 6 2009, 02:33 AM) i want to know what vocalist do you think would be better that's been in any free will band? i'm just curious. Kyo. Full stop. Combining him with Kenzi would have been fucking awesome. Ruki (GazettE). same. Maru (BiS). He's not my first choice (Kyo or Ruki would be) but he's damn good.... Ryou (Kannivalism) I also want to thank you for actually asking rather than bursting into flames :)

Holy shit, Kyo??
...
Nobody's complaining you don't like the band, so you need to go back to school to learn again lecture comprehension... by the way, you didn't asnwer why the fuck you added the drummer wannabe to this topic. Also, I'd like to know what the hell you consider a punk band, I mean, you're saying you are a punk fan, so I just can't understand why you're complaining about DT voice.

I also want to thank you for actually asking rather than bursting into flames :) that guy from Gazette? o_0 i remember seeing a live show from them, they were cuddling each other on stage, but wait, yeah thats fucking Punk Rock ^^''' the Band said they want to celebrate the older times, so why the fuck should they get someone from the new ultra hip bands which had nothing to do with the old times? but i would really like to know why are you against Tommy that much? o_0

So you basically hate an artist because you think he fucked over another artist you like? Grow up. It's not me telling you this, it's the whole freaking board. Your reasons always seem pretty random: "I dislike Toshi because I prefer hide". What? Anyway, I don't mind, these are your opinions, but other people are also voicing theirs. Like most, I also think your vocalist selection is out of place, sticking youngsters with old rockers. That's the same reason why it was ridiculous to think Miyavi would make it into X (not to mention that he can't play). I think that TKRA config is pretty nice, and disliking one of his members just because he's opposite to an artist you fanatize is childish, complete with the "ugh!!" expression. My two cents.

My two cents. thanks for saving me the trouble of writing pretty much the exact same thing blues.

Since you didn't even see the performance or hear it, I think your argument is no better. . . . . .I was there. . . . you could barely hear DT above the bass and drums..... one thing about being a punk vocal is you need to be loud enough to be recognizable. . . and he wasn't.....at all. . . seriously Taiji and Kenzi stole the show from the beginning....and I loved them for it, they were fucking awesome. . . . DT just didn't seem like he was trying!!!! I'm sorry but that's what I think!!!!!

haha thats what thought it sounded like also, bad sound guy.
also miscastdice, i will explain to you the difference between music clubs in japan and the US. in japan most gigs are in what are called live houses, which are like bars, but have live music every night or almost every night. they provide the backline (drums, amps, and PA etc) only the guitars and any custom equipment need to be brought by the band, and it is traditional for the bands to arrive early in the day and do a rehearsal and sound check. this is also possible because japan is so small. a few hours on the train with just your guitars, and you can be in almost any major city early enough in the day to rehearse. in america most bands, even the major ones are touring in a bus or van with gigs nearly every night, in a much bigger country and it takes many hours to get fromcity to city in america by bus or van. because of this there is usually only a couple hours before the band gets to the next city before they have to play, and each band travels with all their equipment, amps, full drums, guitars etc. here in america normally only the PA is provided. so for each band to be able to drive all day, load in all their equipment, practice, and then break down their equipment until later is hard in america due to the way bands tour here. there is an increased pressure on the sound technician to quickly balance things if they are not right. im sure even though this was a one off gig for tkra, the venue was probably not even open during the day for them to practice, because that's just not the way it usually works here. most japanese bands who tour here and in europe find this difficult because its so different. im not saying this is the case, but every japanese band ive seen here in the US just sort of launches right into their set. they are used playing in clubs with a completely different set up, and used to it sounding good right off from the start after a morning rehearsal, and sometimes it does catch the sound guy off guard. its rarely that ive seen a japanese band come out on stage for 5 or 10 minutes in the dark, and tune, and warm up like most touring american bands do before playing.
